Twenty-three-year-old Elina Balasanyan was displaced from Artsakh but has already managed to establish her own business. She went from keeping a small vegetable garden which served as a lifeline during the blockade, to practicing beekeeping. Elina made use of her skills through the toughest times. Today, she has created her business beyond the borders of Artsakh, focusing on the sale of organic chickens and eggs in Armenia. The idea for this venture came to her while she fled Artsakh. Her goals go beyond sustaining her family with her earnings. She hopes to expand her poultry farming enterprise by relocating to a village from her current residence in Etchmiadzin.
